JOHN WILBER TADDIKEN died May 13, 2009 at Medicalodge, Clay Center, KS at the
age of 89. He was born on July 26, 1919 in Clay County, Kansas the son of John Taddiken and
Margaret Young. Wilber was raised in Clay County and graduated from Clay County
Community High School in 1937. He served in the US Army during WWII. He married
Marcene Enke on April 21, 1946. They farmed in rural Clay Center before moving to the Clifton
Community in 1955. They retired from farming in 1985 and moved to Clay Center in 1992.
Marcene preceded him in death on April 20, 2009. He was a member of the First Presbyterian
Church in Clay Center, the Presbyterian Manor Advisory Board, Clifton American Legion,
Clifton COOP Board and the Riverside Drainage District Board. He is also preceded by 3 sisters,
Leona Carson, Alberta Murphy, and Esther Showe, a brother, Ervin and a great-grandson,
Fredrick Allen Boerger.

Son: Dale and wife Judy Taddiken, Camdenton, MO
Son: Mark and wife Debra Taddiken, Clifton, KS
Sister: Lavone McIntosh, Clay Center, KS
Grandchildren: 11 Grandchildren & 15 Great-grandchildren
Sister in Law: Marian Hanna
Brother in Law: Jean Showe
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian
Church in Clay Center, Kansas .
Officiating the service will be Rev James Byers.
Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on 3-8 PM Friday at the funeral home, the family will greet friends from
5-7 PM
Memorials can be made to First Presbyterian Church, Lighthouse for Christ or the Leisure Center
c/o the funeral home.
