John Thompson

JOHN J THOMPSON died June 1, 2010 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 85. He was born on May 7, 1925 in Clay Center Kansas, the son of John O. and Verna (Meredith) Thompson. John was raised in Clay Center and graduated from CCCHS. He served in the US Army during WWII. John married Olive Bartlett on December 4, 1950. He worked for an electric line contractor before working as a lineman and then Assistant Manager for C&W Rural Electric. Olive preceded him in death on September 13, 2005. John was a member of the Clay Center Christian Church. Survivors include: Son: William and wife Cherryl Thompson, Bowie, MD Daughter: Patricia Thompson and husband Brad Coutant, Billings, MT Sister: Dorothy Crowley, Cameron, MO Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 7, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Christian Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Doug Wallace. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 2-5 PM Sunday a the funeral home Memorials can be made to Clay Center Christian Church c/o the funeral home
