JOSEPH "JOE" ELDON BECK died December 14, 2011 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 80. JOSEPH "JOE" ELDON BECK was born on August 4, 1931 in Hutchinson Kansas, the son of Joseph F. Beck and Louise Cora Bruenger. Joe taught school in Waterville KS before moving to Clay Center in May of 1957. He taught for USD 379 until his retirement in 1991. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church. He married Gloria Roberts on December 6, 1952 and she preceded him on September 22, 2008. He is also preceded by one sister. Survivors include: Son: Joseph R. and wife Joyce Beck, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Melissa and husband Carl Bowerman, Yukon, OK Sister: Lois Dains, Emporia, KS Grandchildren: 4 Grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Paul Tessaro. Burial with Military Honors will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 17 from 9-11 AM at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Joe Beck Memorial Fund c/o funeral home.
