Judy Werner

Judy C. Werner, 85, of Wakefield, Kansas died on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at her residence.  She was born on April 11, 1939 in Clay Center, Kansas, the daughter of Verlyn and Ruth (Sickles) Case.  She grew up in Clay Center and graduated from CCCHS in 1957.

Judy worked for the American Royal in Kansas City for several years before moving back to Wakefield.  She then worked for the Geary Community Hospital in Junction City as the executive secretary to the hospital CEO for 25 years.  Judy married Bruce Werner on March 25, 1995, and they made their home in Abilene before moving to rural Wakefield in 2005.  She was a member of the Church of God, A Worldwide Association. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Judy is survived by her husband, Bruce Werner of Wakefield, Kansas; cousins, Rhoda Dinsmore of Wichita, Kansas, Sharon Tannehill of Wakefield, Kansas and Dale Case of Clay Center, Kansas.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2024 from 2-5 PM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center, Kansas.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024 at 10:30AM in the Highland Cemetery in Wakefield, Kansas.
