Kenneth Fowler

KENNETH A. FOWLER died June 9, 2013 at Mercy Regional Health Center, Manhattan, KS at the age of 56. KENNETH A. FOWLER was born on September 23, 1956 in Fort Riley, Kansas. Ken was raised in Wakefield and graduated from Wakefield High School in 1974. He worked at the Wakefield Grocery Store and for T&J Sheet Metal. In 1989, Ken took a job with Kansas Gas Service as a Service Technician. He married Holly Kirk on October 10, 1992. Ken served as Mayor of Wakefield from 2001 to the present. He is preceded in death by his mother, Thelma LaRose and his brother, Wayne Fowler. He was a member of the Wakefield Lions Club and the IBEW Union. Ken enjoyed the outdoors, being on the lake, helping other people, and attending his children's sporting events. Survivors include: Wife: Holly Fowler, Wakefield, KS Son: Daniel Fowler, Wichita, KS Daughter: Briana Fowler, Wakefield, KS Sister: Dona DiMambro, Hollis, NH Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Wakefield, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Larry Brock. Burial will be at the Timber Creek Cemetery, Wakefield, Kansas. There will be no visitation. Memorials can be made to the Kenneth Fowler Memorial Fund to be designated later and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
