KENNETH L. OLSON died August 4, 2013 at Mercy Regional Health Center,
Manhattan, KS at the age of 90. He was born on July 29, 1923 in Washington County, Kansas
the son of Martin and Marvel (Campbell) Olson.
Kenneth was raised in the Palmer, KS area. He attended Spring Creek Country School
and graduated from Linn High School in 1940. He was a WWII Navy veteran. Kenneth married
LaVera Ohlde on July 21, 1946 and she preceded him on July 14, 2008. He owned the Rite Way
Market grocery store in Palmer, raised AKC registered dogs, was a substitute rural mail carrier
and farmed all in the Palmer area. Kenneth was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, church
Men's Club and the Lutheran Layman's League. He was a member of the American Legion.
Kenneth was also preceded by a brother Maurice Lee Olson and foster daughter Alice Hinrichs.

Daughter: Kathy and husband Ron Bott, Palmer, KS
Son: Morris and wife Jean Olson, Manhattan, KS
Son: Philip and wife Linda Olson, Clifton, KS
Grandchildren: 8 grand and 19 great-grandchildren
Foster Son: Norman Hinrichs
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the St. John Lutheran
Church in Wahington County, Kansas.
Officiating the service will be Pastor Jacob Sherry.
Burial will be at the St. John Cemetery, Washington County, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 9th from 5:00 to 8:00pm at the St. John Lutheran
Church
