LAFE BERTRAND, 89 died January 29, 2015 at Clay County Medical Center in Clay Center, KS. He was born on July 4, 1925 in Clay County, KS, the son of Mose and Elsie (Long) Bertrand.
Lafe was born on the family farm west of Morganville. He took over the farming operation at age 17 due to his father's poor health. Lafe graduated from Morganville High School in 1943. He married Anita Wiberg on May 5, 1945. They farmed until his retirement in 1985 and moved to Clay Center. Lafe was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder. He also served on the C&R Credit Union Board of Directors, the Lincoln School Board and the 4 Mile School Board. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 10 :30 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center, KS
Officiating the service will be Rev. Scott Lingle
Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, KS
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 2-4 PM at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home
