LAFE LEWIS SCHWAB died June 15, 2009 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 76. He was born on November 14, 1932 in Morganville Kansas, the son of William Schwab and Helen Reed. He was raised in Morganville and attended Sherman and Morganville Schools. He married Vivian Sallman on March 15, 1952. He served in the National Guard for 9 years. Lafe farmed in the Morganville until his retirement in 1995. He was a director of the Morganville COOP board for 18 years, Sherman Cemetery Board and Sherman Rural Fire Department Board. He is preceded by his father and 2 sisters. Survivors include: Wife: Vivian Schwab, Morganville, KS Mother: Helen Schwab, Clyde, KS Son: David and wife Janet Schwab, Clay Center, KS Son: Doug and wife Lisa Schwab, Clifton, KS Son: Dwaine and wife Leah Schwab, Clifton, KS Daughter: Dianne and husband Kelly Gonser, Leavenworth, KS Brother: William and wife Eva Schwab, Clifton, KS Sister: Muriel Jacobson, Clifton, KS Grandchildren: 11 Grand and 5 Great-grand Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Gale Lund. Burial will be at the Sherman Cemetery, Clay County, Kansas.
