LaNora Corrine Eshleman, 71, of Salina, died peacefully at Pinnacle Park Nursing & Rehabilitation Center Friday April 29, 2016. The family provided the following information.
LaNora was born May 25, 1944 to Jacob and Mae (Talbot) Bigler in Clay Center, Kansas. She attended school in Clay Center and graduated from Clay Center Community High School in 1962. LaNora attended Crum’s Beauty School in Manhattan, and worked many years as a hairdresser in Clay Center and Salina. She also enjoyed working as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell, as a juvenile detention center youth caretaker, and as a Wal-Mart associate in Salina.
LaNora was an avid sports fan, and she loved to watch Kansas Jayhawks Basketball, and Kansas City Royals Baseball. She was a "people" person who loved making conversation with friends, neighbors, patrons, and her family members. Her hobbies included cooking, canning, candy-making, and crafts such as macramé, and plastic canvas.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine Jones (and husband, Jim), of Salina; her son, Richard Rosenkranz (and wife, Sara), of Manhattan; her brother, Bruce Bigler, of Clay Center; her brother, Jacob Bigler (and wife, Sharon), of Wichita; her brother, James Bigler (and wife, Yolanda), of Las Vegas, NV; and three grandchildren. LaNora is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Connie Hullum; and her sister-in-law, Joyce Bigler.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 4 at 11 AM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center, KS, with a burial at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 4 from 10 AM until service time.
