Larry Savener

LARRY SAVENER, 80 died April 1, 2015 in Clay Center, KS. He was born on September 24, 1934 in Clay Center, KS. The son of Laurence and Elsie (Carlson) Savener. Larry was raised in Clay County and graduated from CCCHS in 1952. He married Joyce Nemnich on January 8, 1954. They farmed in the Bloom Township until they moved to Clay Center in 2001. Larry also worked for Brent Rundell at Morganville Valley Fertilizer and for Sheldon Koppes at CPS as the seed sales department manager. He was a member of BPOE, Longford Rural Water District and drove a bus for the Morganville School for 7 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Kenneth Savener, and two sisters, Dorothy Worley and Darlene Marsh. Survivors: Wife: Joyce Savener, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Marsha and Rick Chaffee, Clay Center, KS Son: Mark Savener, Manhattan, KS Sister D'Anna McMahan, Wichita, KS Grandchildren: Allen, Ann, Arica, Ryan and Dane, 11 Great-grandchildren Sister in Law: Reta Savener, Clay Center, KS Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 1:30 PM at the Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center, KS Officiating the service will be Rev. Bruce Marshall Visitation will be held on Friday, April 3, 2015 from 4-8 PM at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home.
