Lawrence "Bus" Alexander

LAWRENCE “BUS” ALEXANDER died August 14, 2012 at Community Care Inc., Clifton, KS at the age of 89. He was born on April 6, 1923 in Clifton Kansas, the son of Trefflia and Elizabeth (Esslinger) Alexander. Bus was born and raised in the Clifton community. He attended #7 country school and graduated from Clifton High School. Bus taught school before serving in the US Army during WWII. Bus married Rita Ruhkamp on November 4, 1947. They made their home and farmed near Clifton. Bus was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the American Legion both of Clifton. He is preceded in death by a brother, Jim and 4 sisters, Marguerite Martin, Edna Gieber, Odella Kantak and Lorene Dugan Survivors include: Wife: Rita Alexander, Clifton, KS Daughter: Kathleen and husband Jerry Sorell, Clyde, KS Daughter: Cynthia and husband Randy Dugan, El Dorado, KS Daughter: Phyllis and husband Lowell Reith, Salina, KS Son: David and wife Linda Alexander, Kerrville, TX Son: Ron and wife Nancy Alexander, Emporia, KS Son: Dan Alexander, Salina, KS Son: Dennis and wife Carol Alexander, Clifton, KS Brother: Dean and wife Nan Alexander, San Antonio, TX Grandchildren: 18 Grandchildren, 6 Step-Grandchildren, 32 Great-grandchildren & 20 Step-Great-grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clifton, Kansas. Officiating the service will be . Burial will be at the St. Mary Cemetery, Clifton, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Thursday 5-7 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church with rosary at 7PM Memorials can be made to Community Care Inc., Clifton Ambulance or the St. Mary’s Cemetery fund
