He was raised near Green, KS and attended Pleasant View School. Lawrence married Maxine Strom on May 24. 1937, she survives of the home. He farmed in Clay County, was a rural mail carrier, did custom dirt work and sold Pioneer corn and sorghum seed. Lawrence was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Clay Center. He is preceded in death by 4 brothers and 1 sister. Survivors include: Wife: Maxine Habluetzel, Clay Center, KS Son: Loy Habluetzel, Fallbrook, CA Son: Larry and wife Carol Habluetzel, Overland Park, KS Son: Gail and wife Marsha Habluetzel, Clay Center, KS Brother: Arlan and wife Arlene Habluetzel, Clay Center, KS Sister: Alice Wickstrum, Clay Center, KS Grandchildren: 6 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 1:30 PM at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 5 from 3-8pm at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Evangelical Covenant Church c/o the funeral home.
