LEAH DELORES BENDER REED HOBBS HALL died February 23, 2010 at Clay County
Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 83. Leah was born on May 26, 1926 in Poole,
WV the daughter of John Bender and Lettie Pennington. She was raised and attended school in Scarbro and Mt. Hope, WV. She married Jerry Reed on May 1, 1951 and they made their home in several mining communities before returning to Scarbro to be near her mother.
Leah was known as Sis to family and friends. She was a homemaker and devoted to her children. She and her family were members of Bradley Church of God , Bradley, WV. She loved to work in the garden, go for long walks and learn hand quilting from her mother in law. She was also an avid reader. Jerry preceded her in death in 1965. She moved to Mt. Hope and married Loren Hobbs in 1967, together they raised her children and later enjoyed their grandchildren. Loren preceded her in death in 1980. She married Jack Hall in 1985 and he preceded her in death. Leah moved to South
Carolina to live with her son Jerry. She was able to spend time with two of her children and grandchildren. Due to failing health, she moved to Clay Center in November 1998 to live with her daughter for 11 years. She is also preceded by her parents, 2 brothers, James and Clarence Bender and a great-grandson

Son: Jerry and wife Eulia Reed, Blacksburg, SC

Grandchildren: 18 Grand, 48 Great-grand and 4 Great-great-grand
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in her home state of West Virginia.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association in
care of the funeral home.
