Leland Koepsel

LELAND KOEPSEL, 80 died October 6, 2014 in Clay Center, Kansas . He was born on January 18, 1934 in Abilene, KS. The son of Robert and Mina (West) Koepsel. Leland was raised in Abilene and graduated from Abilene High School. He married Dixie Fajen on June 21, 1957. Leland worked for Kansas Power and Light and later for Westar Energy as a lineman and outside district man for 43 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He is preceded in death by parents, a brother Roland Koepsel, and three sisters, Phyllis Griffis, Ermaleen Dunn and Gladys Cornell. Survivors: Wife: Dixie Koepsel, Clay Center, KS Son: Kevin and wife Lori Koepsel, Lee's Summit, MO Son: Mark and wife Lori Koepsel, Topeka, KS 3 Grandchildren: Tyler, Bailey, and Raegan Sister: Lois Beeney, Clermont, FL. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 10:30 AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clay Center, KS. Officiating the service will be Pastor Paul Tessaro. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Meadowlark Hospice c/o the funeral home.
