Lenore Yost, 86, died peacefully on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2018 in Clay Center, Kansas.

Lenore June Yost was born June 1, 1932 in Miller, South Dakota, the daughter of Clarence and Gladys Yost. She graduated from Miller High School and then attended the Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alberta,

Canada. It was here she met her lifelong friend and working companion, Helen Holston. For more than 50 years, Helen and Lenore (H & L) were involved in Christian education and ministry throughout the state of Kansas. Lenore also taught elementary school for several years in South Dakota before coming to Kansas.

Lenore made her home on the Broughton road, where she and Helen taught many children and adult Bible classes. She enjoyed the country and being outdoors. She was a friend to many and loved by all who knew her.

Survivors include her best friend, Helen Holston of Clay Center, sister Joyce Meyer and sister-in-law, Bev Yost, both of Miller, South Dakota, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Gladys Yost, brothers, Clarence Yost and Lawrence Yost, and sisters Judy Rae Scott and JoAnne Ledford.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Lenore Yost on Wednesday, November 28 at 10:30 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Clay Center.

Burial will be in the Broughton Cemetery.

Respect calls will be held November 27 from 4-7 at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center.

Memorials may be made to Meadowlark Hospice, Clay Center Presbyterian Manor or the Scottsville Community Church in care of the funeral home.
