Leon Colp

LEON CHARLES COLP died 110611 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 74. He was born on May 7, 1937 in Albuquerque, NM the son of Amel and Mary (Hazen) Colp. Leon was raised in Clay Center and graduated from CCCHS in 1955. He married Donna Koerner on July 3, 1963. He worked for Sears & Roebuck, COOP and drove a truck for Girton Propane until his retirement in 2002. He is preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Hadway and a sister, Irene Lenhart. Survivors include: Wife: Donna Colp, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Debbie and husband Ron Gray, McPherson, KS Daughter: Tammy and husband Nick Thompson, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Rhonda LaVergne, Houston, TX Son: Randy and wife Bridget Colp, Wakefield, KS Daughter: Marcia and husband Scott Campbell, Clay Center, KS Son: Rusty Colp, Morganville, KS Grandchildren: 21 Grand & 23 Great-grand Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery, Wakefield, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 4-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home Memorials can be made to Leon Colp Memorial Fund to be designated later c/o the funeral home
