LEON MUGLER died August 25, 2013 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS
at the age of 94. He was born on April 13, 1919 in Riley county, Kansas the son of Cleve and
Callie (Nanninga) Mugler.
Leon graduated from Leonardville High School. He married Eva Thornton on March 12,
1941 and she preceded him in death on November 19, 2005. He was a lifelong farmer. Leon
was the founder and president of Hutchinson Manufacturing, retiring in 1984. He served as an
officer/director on the boards of Union State Bank, Great Bend Manufacturing, Farm Fans, Inc.,
International Trade Council, Farm and Industrial Equipment Institute, Kansas Chamber of
Commerce and Industry, Kansas State University Foundation, and the Clay Center Lions Club.
He was a member of the Clay Center United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday School
for more than 50 years and served on numerous boards and committees. Leon was preceded in
death by his wife of 64 years, Eva Mugler, parents, Cleve and Callie Mugler, and his brother
Emerson Mugler.

Daughter: Laree Mugler, Cincinnati, OH
Daughter: Lorraine Watson, Dallas, TX
2 Granddaughters and 4 Great Grandchildren
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Clay Center
United Methodist Church in Clay Center, Kansas.
Officiating the service will be Pastor Ryan Lynch and Herb Mugler.
Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on will be held from 3-8PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. The
family will greet friends from 4-7 PM
Memorials can be made to may be made to the Clay Center Presbyterian Manor and can be sent
in care of the funeral home.
