Leona Louise Rica Damman, 92, died January 8, 2015 at Washington County Hospital in Washington, KS. She was born on November 18, 1922 in Washington County, KS. The daughter of Wilhelm and Caroline (Bekemeyer) Moormann. Leona was raised in Washington County and attended Immanuel Lutheran School. She worked as a household assistant and later for Concordia Publishing House in St. Louis. Leona married Walter Damman on August 27, 1950. They farmed north of Clifton until 1961 when they moved to Clifton. She was the bookkeeper for Damman Blacksmith Shop. Leona cooked at Estell Nursing Home in Clifton until her retirement. Walter preceded her in death on September 28, 1988. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She is preceded in death by son, Mark, 2 grandchildren, Amil and Emily Damman, brother Holger Moormann, sisters, Willetta Meier and Lois Moormann and her parents. Survivors: Son: Steven Damman, Clyde, KS Daughter: Sandra and husband Harvey Eickhoff, Falls City, NE Daughter In Law: Debra Damman. Holton, KS 6 Grandchildren: Theodore Damman, Christina Stica, Katherine Damman, Ryan Eickhoff, Jaime Kersten, Jared Eickhoff 3 Great-Grandchildren: Maryola Stica, Jackariah Stica and Coryanna Stica Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 10:30 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington County, KS. Officiating the service will be Pastor Richard Rikli. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Washington County, KS. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 5-7 PM at Turner Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church building fund or Lutheran Hour and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
