LEROY “BUD” COWING, 86 died December 14, 2013 at Medicalodge in Clay Center, KS. He was born on November 20, 1927 in Clay Center, KS. The son of James and Clara (Ritter) Cowing. Bud was raised in Clay Center. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad, Feller's Dairy, Clay Center Fire Department, Key Egg Farm and 17 years with the Clay Center Street Department. He married Inez Moore on April 21, 1975 and she preceded him in death on October 17, 2010. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. He is also preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Bates, a son Larry Cowing and 3 sisters. Survivors: Son: David and wife Aurora Cowing, Topeka, KS Daughter: Wanda Ortiz, Gautier, MS Step-Daughter: Charlene and husband Dan Carlile, Indianola, IA Grandchildren: 9 Grand, 3 Step-grand, many Great-grand and Great-great-grand Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center, KS Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, KS Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 9 AM until service time at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home Memorials: Clay Center Volunteer Fire Department c/o the funeral home
