Lois Pettet

LOIS PETTET died June 30, 2011 at her residence in Wakefield, KS at the age of 89. She was born on February 4, 1922 in Clay Center Kansas, the daughter of Henry Rohe and Ellen Mattson. Lois grew up in Clay County and attended Mt. Vernon and Hebron Schools. She graduated from CCCHS. She married Allan Pettet on September 12, 1947 and moved from the farm North of Wakefield to their current farm in 1950. Allen preceded her on April 3, 2009. She worked as a bookkeeper for Farm Bureau and for the family farm. She was a member of the Wakefield United Methodist Church, Sunshine Club, Library Club and E.H.U.. She was also preceded by one brother and one nephew. Survivors include: Son: Gary Pettet, Wakefield, KS Son: Charles “Chuck” Pettet and Wendie Harris, Wakefield, KS Daughter: Sharon “Sharijo” Dunbar, Manhattan, KS Grandchildren: 5 Grandchildren 9 Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Wakefield, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Rev. Diana Stewart. Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery, Wakefield, Kansas.
