ELIZABETH LORRAINE NELSON died July 21, 2008 at Medicalodge, Clay Center, KS at the age of 85. She was born on November 13, 1922 in Clay County, Kansas the daughter of Glenn Tomlinson and Alma Ellen Smith. She was raised in the 4 mile community in Clay County before moving to Clay Center in 1937. Lorraine graduated from Clay Center Community High School and worked for People's National Bank. She married LeRoy Nelson on December 27, 1947. They farmed in the Garfield Center Community before moving to Clay Center in 1967. In 1968, Lorraine worked in the printing department at Gilmore Tatge. LeRoy preceded her in death on January 16, 1987. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she was a former Deacon. She is also preceded by a twin sister and a grandson. Survivors include Son: Tom and wife Brenda Nelson, Clay Center, KS Son: Steven Nelson, Clay Center, KS Sister: Glenda an husband Gerald Carlson, Clay Center, KS Grandchildren: 5 Grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Rev. James Byers. Burial will be at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Clay County, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 3-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home Memorials can be made to First Presbyterian Church or Apollo Towers Coffee Club c/o the funeral home
