RONALD DALE PHILLIPS died January 25, 2012 at his residence in Clay Center, KS at the age of 65. Ronald was born on December 1, 1946 in Layton, Utah the son of Dale and Arlene Phillips. Ronald served in the US Army Special Forces, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel after nearly 40 years of service. He served as a peacekeeper in the Sinai Peninsula. Ronald married Connie Thompson on August 29, 1968 in Ogden, UT. After retiring from the Army, he worked as a civil service employee on Fort Riley and for the Geary County Health Department. Survivors include: Wife: Connie Phillips, Clay Center, KS Son: Scott Phillips, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Amy and husband Calvin J. Whitaker, Junction City, KS Sister: Sandy and husband Larry Adrian, Ogden, UT Sister: Sela Jensen, Hollister, CA Brother: Brad Phillips, Ogden, UT 7 Grandchildren & 1 Great-granddaughter Mother: Arlene Phillips Miller, Mesa, AZ Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Kansas Veteran's Cemetery at Fort Riley, Manhattan, Kansas. Officiating the service will be The Rev. Susan Sawyer. Burial will be at the Kansas Veteran's Cemetery at Fort Riley, Manhattan, Kansas. Memorials can be made to Meadowlark Hospice c/o the funeral home.
