LULU RUTH FOSTER died June 7, 2010 at Salina Regional Health Center Santa Fe Campus,
Salina, KS at the age of 81. She was born on January 29, 1929 in Nortonville, KS the daughter
of Herman and Alice Ellerman (Hoffman). Lulu was born and raised in Nortonville, KS and
graduated from Nortonville High School. She married John Jack Foster on December 24, 1947.
They made their home on Belleville, IL before moving to Miltonvale in 1949. They worked at
and later owned and operated Miltonvale Telephone Company and Twin Valley Telephone. Lulu
was a member of the Methodist Church where she served as treasurer for over 50 years. She was
a 50 year member of Order of Eastern Star, a member of Pioneer Telephone Association and
charter member of the Kansas Telephone Hall of Fame. Lulu is preceded in death by a sister,
vera Lane and brothers, Herman Junior Hoffman and Donald Hoffman.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the Wesleyan Church
in Miltonvale, Kansas.
Burial will be at the Miltonvale Cemetery, Miltonvale, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on 5-7 PM Wednesday at Phelps Funeral Home
