Madonna Reed

MADONNA ALICE REED died October 25, 2013 at Community Care Inc., Clifton, KS at the age of 87. She was born on August 8, 1926 in Clay County, Kansas, the daughter of Lee and Berthilda (Hodges) Thorman. Madonna was raised in the Green community. She married Leo Reed on September 15, 1944. They made their home and farmed near Clifton, KS. Madonna also worked as an Aide at Clay County Medical Center and Park Villa Nursing Home in Clyde. Leo preceded her in death on January 9, 2001. Madonna was a member of Faith United Church Presbyterian where she served as an Elder and a Deacon, O.E.S., American Legion Auxiliary and Clifton Historical Society. She is also preceded in death by a son, Donald and two brothers. Survivors include: Son: Leo Reed, Jr, Clifton, KS Daughter: Sharon Reed, Clifton, KS Daughter-In-Law: Trudy Reed, Clifton, KS 10 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren & 7 Great-Great-Grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 10:30 at the Faith United Church Presbyterian in Clifton, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor FrankLyn Schroeder. Burial will be at the Riverdale Cemetery, Clay County, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 5-7 PM Tuesday at Turner Funeral Home Memorials can be made to Faith United Church Presbyterian or Community Care Inc.
