Marcella Bechard

MARCELLA D. BECHARD died August 12, 2009 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 76. She was born on December 30, 1932 in Palmer, Kansas the daughter of Hubert and Hulda (Killman) Tiemeyer. She was born and raised in the Palmer community where she attended St. John's Lutheran School. She graduated from Clay County Community High School in 1954 and graduated from Bethany Hospital School of Nursing in Kansas City, Kansas. She married Don Bechard on October 11, 1958 in Clifton, KS. Marcella worked as an RN at the Clay County Medical Center. She helped organize Meadowlark Hospice in 1985 and work as nurse coordinator for 5 years. She later worked part time in the out-patient clinic at the hospital. Marcella retired in 1998. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clay Center, Clay County Home Health Advisory Board, Sherman-Crawford Club, A-Z Club, Clyde Friendship Club, Konza Prairie Quilt Guild and Piotique Quilt Guild. She is preceded in death by 2 children, Douglas and Amy, a sister Wanda Gillete and a great-granddaughter. Survivors include: Husband: Don Bechard, Clifton, KS Son: Donald wife Mary Bechard, Belleville, KS Son: Dale and wife Meredith Bechard, Abilene, KS Son: Barry and wife Theresa Bechard, Clifton, KS Sister: Marilla Griffiths, Milford, NE Brother: Roland Tiemeyer, Palmer, KS Brother: Ronald Tiemeyer, Palmer, KS Sister: Ruth Jones, Linn, KS Sister: Ruby Fox, Salina, KS Brother: Kenneth Tiemeyer, Columbus, NE Grandchildren: 7 Grand and 2 Great-grand Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Paul Tessaro. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Friday 3-8 PM at the funeral home Memorials can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Meadowlark Hospice c/o the funeral home
