Marcene Ruth Wachsnicht

MARCENE RUTH WACHSNICHT died July 4, 2011 at Country Place Senior Living, Clay Center, KS at the age of 76. MARCENE RUTH WACHSNICHT was born on August 15, 1934 in Clay Center Kansas, the daughter of Samuel Dewey and Nora (Liby) Hileman. Marcene was raised in Clay Center and graduated from CCCHS in 1952. She married Howard Wachsnicht on January 8, 1951 in Manhattan. They made their home in Green, KS. Marcene worked at J.C. Penney in Clay Center for 10 years. Howard prededed her in death on March 1, 2007. She was a member of the Green E.H.U., Faye Walker Auxillary and did volunteer work at Medicalodge and Meadowlark Hospice. She is also preceded in death by two sons David and Douglas, 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Survivors include: Daughter: Deb Hess, Wakefield, KS Son: Damon and wife, Rhonda Wachsnicht, Stockton, CA Sister: Betty Fordham, Wichita, KS Sister: Veda Brannan, Clay Center, KS Sister: Shirley Hileman, Concordia, KS Sister: Barbara Langston, Newton, KS 7 Grand and 12 Great Grandchildren Daughter In-Law: Deb and Robin Harlow, Junction City, KS Memorial Services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel at 10:00 AM. Respect calls will be held from 4-6PM Friday at the funeral home Memorials can be made to Meadowlark Hospice and sent in care of the funeral home.
