Margery Emma (Roll) Urban was born on April 26, 1930. She was the oldest daughter of Albert and Alice (Bullimore) Roll. She always felt blessed to have received her middle name from three ancestors; Emma (Bennett) Bullimore, mother of Thomas Bullimore; Emma (Bullimore) Dunavan, sister of Alice Roll; and Emma (Roll) Achenbach, sister of Albert Roll. Margery was born on the same farm on which her father was born and her grandfather homesteaded in Grant Township in Clay County, Kansas.
Margery attended two, one-room schools and graduated from CCCHS in 1948. In the fall of 1948, she entered Bethany Hospital School of Nursing in Kansas City, Kansas and began her lifelong career as a nurse. She graduated from Bethany in 1951 and worked at Clay County Hospital for 35 years, retiring in 1992.
Margery had a great love of flowers and spent hours working in her flower beds. She loved to ride horse back and was often seen riding her beloved bay mare, Lynda, along their country roads.
Margery married Clarence Urban in 1954. They had one son, Casey Urban, who survives with his wife, Janice, and two grandsons, Colby and wife Cory, and Jacob and wife Sierra. She was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Alice Roll, and two sisters, Betty Elaine Copeland and Helen Marie Hileman. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins to mourn her passing. May God bless you all. I love you.
