Margie Steppe

MARGIE STEPPE died April 26, 2013 at Medicalodge, Clay Center, KS at the age of 97. She was born on January 23, 1916 in Clay County Kansas, the daughter of Ed and Millie (Arnold) Eckel. Margie was raised in the Wakefield community and attended country school and Wakefield High School. She married John “Jack” Steppe on August 5, 1934. They farmed in the Wakefield area. Jack preceded her in death on April 9, 1992. Margie was a member of the Pricilla Club. Survivors include: Daughter: Donetta and husband Robert “Bob” Elkins, Clay Center, KS Son: John Steppe, Jr, Wakefield, KS Son: Richard and wife Bonnie Steppe, Wakefield, KS Sister: Hazel Carpenter, Westminster, CO Sister: Erma Douglas, Forrest City, AR Grandchildren: 6 Grand, 2 Step-grand and several Great-grand Private graveside services will be held at a later date Burial will be at the Madura Cemetery, Clay County, Kansas. There will be no visitation
