MARJORIE P. OARD died November 1, 2013 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 97. MARJORIE P. OARD was born on October 18, 1916 in Niles, Kansas the daughter of John Cherry and Ruby Burt. Marjorie grew up in the Niles community and attended the Longford High School. She taught school in Manchester and Niles. She married Rudolph “Rudy” Oard on August 17, 1939 and he preceded her on December 29, 2012. She worked at the Ft. Riley Post Exchange as manager from 1955-1975 and then worked for Foley's in Clay Center. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Rebekahs, where she served as State Officer and the Wakefield Library Club. She is also preceded by 2 sisters, 2 brothers and 1 granddaughter. Survivors include: Daughter: Trudy and husband Mick Zurmely, Junction City, KS Daughter: Sherry Bergmeier, Wakefield, KS Son: Terry and wife Linda Oard, Salina, KS Brother: Bob Cherry, Hereford, AZ Brother: Ronnie Blake, Augusta, KS Sister: Marcella Craig, Norco, CA Grandchildren: 9 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church in Wakefield, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Will Kenyon. Burial will be at the Rose Meron Cemetery, Clay County, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 5 from 5-7pm at the Wakefield Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to Wakefield Museum or the United Methodist Church of Wakefield c/o Neill-Schwensen-Rook F.H. 918 7th Clay Center Kansas 67432
