MARSHALL WILLIAM CARLSON, 83 died January 15, 2008 at the Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS. He was born on February 3, 1924 in Clay County,Kansas, the son of Emil and Mildred (Berrier) Carlson. Marshall served in the US Army during WWII. He married Darlene Sutter on February 3, 1946. They made their home in rural Longford and rural Clay Center, where he farmed with his brother before moving to Clay Center in 1957. He drove a truck for Carlson Trucking Co. for over 30 years before retiring. Darlene preceded him in death on July 31, 2007. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Clay Center, American Legion and VWF, all of Clay Center. He is also preceded by a son, Melvin and a granddaughter. Survivors: Daughter: Marsha Sue and husband Jim Davies, Wichita, KS Daughter-In-Law: Glennis Carlson, Rose Hill, KS Brother: Wayne and wife Dorothy Carlson, Clay Center, KS Granddaughter: T'Sharra Carlson, Lee's Summit, MO Granddaughter: Carrie Carlson , Lenexa, KS Great Grandson: Aric Murillo, Lee's Summit, MO Funeral Services: Friday,January 18, 2008 at 10:30 am at the United Methodist Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Minister: Pastor Glenn Tombaugh Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas with military honors. Visitation:3-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials: First United Methodist Church of Clay Center to be designated later in care of the funeral home.
