Martha Rundle, age 86, died on September 24, 2024, at Advena Living Center in Clay Center, KS. She was born to Dan David “D.D.” and Elsie (Springer) Jackson on February 19, 1938, in Clay Center. Martha attended Clay Center schools and graduated from CCCHS in 1956.  She married Harlan Rundle on October 7, 1956. They had 3 children. Martha and her family moved to Clay Center from their farm in 1962. She owned and operated Dutchmaid Coin Laundry, Weekenders and sold Mary Kay for over 25 years, selling enough products to earn a car. She and her husband purchased a monument company in 1969. Martha stayed very busy between running businesses and raising her children. She loved baking cookies and would spend countless hours baking and selling cookies throughout the year. Martha was known in the community as “The Cookie Lady”.

Martha was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she served as a Deaconess, a Sunday School teacher and volunteered her time on the kitchen committee. She served as president for one year in the Pilot Club, served on the Chamber of Commerce and was a long-time member of Beta Sigma Fi. After her 40th high school reunion, Martha and a few of her classmates would meet up once a month for lunch, for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Randy; siblings, Maurice, Melvin, Vera, Frances, Mildred and John.

Daughter: Susan and husband Steve Luthi of Clay Center, KS

Daughter: Tammy and husband Mark Chalfant of Andover, KS

Brother: Dan Jackson of Beaverton, OR

4 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren

Best Friend: Nancee Burbank of Eau Claire, WI

Funeral Services: Friday, September 27, 2024, at 10:30AM at the First Baptist Church in Clay Center, KS

Visitation: Friday, September 27, 2024, from 9:00 AM until service time in the Fellowship Hall at the church

Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas

Memorials: Contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church to go toward the sound system c/o the funeral home
