Marvin Michels

MARVIN C MICHELS died January 6, 2009 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 81. He was born on September 16, 1927 in Reynolds, NE the son of Carl Michels and Esther Oerter. He attended Fairbury Junior College and earned a B.S. in teaching from Prue State Teachers College. He later earned his Masters Degree from Kansas State University. Marvin married Mary Levendofsky on Jan 6, 1953 in Bellevielle, KS, she survives of the home. He served as an educator for 33 yeears, teachingt and coaching in Nebraska and Kansas. They moved to Clifton in 1957. He served as Principal of Clifton High School for 13 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clifton. Survivors include: Wife: Mary Michels, Clifton, KS Son: Scott and wife Marilyn Michels, Pleasanton, KS Son: Larry and wife Diane Michels, Baldwin City, KS Son: Greg and wife Lea Ann Michels, Emporia, KS Sister: Rozella Mae Prellwitz, Reynolds, NE Brother: Dale Michels, Superior, NE Grandchildren: 11 Grandchildren and 3 Great-Grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 9, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the St. Marys Catholic Church in Clifton, Kansas. Officiating the service will be The Rev. Larry Letourneau. Burial will be at the St. Mary Cemetery, Clifton, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 5-7 PM Thursday at Turner Funeral Home with rosary recited at 7PM Memorials can be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or Clifton Baseball Association c/o the funeral home
