Mary Janet Brumfield

Mary Janet (Chaput) Brumfield, 70, of Clay Center, KS went home to be with her Heavenly Father, on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, with her family by her side.

Mary Janet was born May 15, 1949 in Concordia, KS to Alex A. and Louise J (Odette) Chaput. She graduated from Notre Dame High school in Concordia with the class of 1967. She graduated from cosmetology school in Salina, KS the following year.

She married Rick Brumfield on September 21, 1968, in Concordia, KS. To this union were born three children. Daughter Nicolé (Matt) Dorman of Abilene, KS, son Allen (Lori) Brumfield, Clay Center, KS and daughter Sarah (Barry) Fentiman of Olathe, KS.

She has 11 grandchildren. Taylor A. Lawson, Wichita KS, Brittney (Nicholas) Mckenzie, Garden City, KS, Mia Lawson, Dalton Brumfield, Morgan Brumfield and Jarrin Brumfield, Clay Center, KS, Bailen (Lauren) Brumfield, South Korea, Madison Fentiman, Maryville, MO, Jillian Underwood, Abilene, KS, Hunter and Dylan Fentiman, Olathe, KS. She was looking forward to meeting their first great grandchild, a baby girl, to be born in July 2020.

Mary Janet is also survived by her brother Odette (Carolyn) Chaput, Plainville, KS, sister Laura Jo (George) Meyer, Concordia, KS, sister Ann Kliem, Lawrence, KS, Regina Vignery, Lincoln, KS, and sister-in-law Sherry (Larry) Campbell, Concordia, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law & mother-in-law Chet & Arlene Brumfield, sister Constance (Chaput) Budreau, brother-in-law LeRoy Budreau, sister-in-law Peggy (Brumfield) Smith, brother-in-law’s J. Terryl Smith, Lewis Kliem, and Delmar Vignery, and two nephews.
