Mary June Bertrand

MARY JUNE BERTRAND died March 15, 2013 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 74. Mary June was born on February 27, 1939 in Maryville, MO the daughter of Jacob Lindt and Mary Belle Gee. Mary June grew up in Clay Center and graduated from CCCHS in 1957. While married to Charles Brake she moved around the country while he was in the Army and they later divorced. She moved back to Clay Center in 1970. She married Robert "Bob" Bertrand on September 27, 1979 and he preceded her on September 26, 2001. She worked as the Food Service Director at the Presbyterian Manor for 13 years, Medicalodge and Ray’s IGA until she retired. She was a member of the Clay Center Christian Church and attended the Clay Center Wesleyan Church. She is also preceded by one brother, William Robert Lindt and one sister, Patricia Ann Lindt. Survivors include: Daughter: Jeanette Brake, Clay Center, KS Son: Richard and wife Susan Brake, Salina, KS Brother: Jim “J.L.” and wife Lois Lindt, Lillian, AL 3 Grandchildren: Dustin, Lindsey, and Conner Brake Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Rob Stewart. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 20 from 3-8pm at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Pulmonary Hypertension Foundation or the Clay County Home Health and sent in care of the funeral home.
