Mary Kiefer

MARY KIEFER died September 15, 2011 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, KS at the age of 63. She was born on July 1, 1948 in Girard KS, the daughter of Oscar and Janice Ruth (Minneman) Kendall. Mary attended school in Concordia and Minneapolis, graduating from Minneapolis High School in 1966. She married John Kiefer on February 5, 1967. They lived in Harvey and Ottawa counties before moiving to Oak Hill in 1976. Mary has driven a school bus for USD #379 since 1980. She was a member of the Oak Hill Presbyterian Church and was active in 4-H. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and a sister Mabel Kendall. Survivors include: Husband: John Kiefer, Oak Hill, KS Son: Charles and wife Jody Kiefer, Minneapolis, KS Son: Chris and wife Michelle Kiefer, Minneapolis, KS Sister: Margaret and husband Jim Reeves, Assaria, KS Brother: Oliver Kendall, Wichita, KS Sister: Vona Dotson, Decatur, AL Sister: Maudie and husband Bob Smith, Clyde, KS Brother: Oscar Kendall, Belleville, KS Sister: Dorothy Reeder, Wapanucka, OK Sister: Stella Waite, Miltonvale, KS Brother: Cecil Fessenden, MN Grandson: Tyson and wife Nicole Heck, Lawrence, KS Granddaughter: Jessica and husband David Miner, Manhattan, KS Grandson: Dakota Baccus, Minneapolis, KS Great-grandchildren: Dayton and Colyn Heck and Braxton Miner Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 3:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church in Oak Hill, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Gil Gillispie and Pastor Todd Burrow. Burial will be at the Rose Meron Cemetery, Clay County, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 3-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Mary Kiefer Memorial Fund and sent in care of the funeral home.
