MARY LILLIAN QUATTLEBAUM died October 13, 2009 at Presbyterian Manor, Clay Center, KS at the age of 87. She was born on May 1, 1922 in Cabot, Arkansas the daughter of William and Pearl (Finley) Hawkins. She was raised in Arkansas and graduated from Beebe College in Beebe, AR. She sang in the Kensett Trio in Kensett , AR. She married Wallace Quattlebaum on December 23, 1942, he preceded her on April 13, 2008.. She was the office manager at the Gordon Mark Elevator. Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star. She served on the election board, was a member of several bridge groups and enjoyed bowling. She was a four time women's club champion at the Clay Center Country Club. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Hawkins. Survivors include: Daughter: Vickie and husband Salvatore Gallo, Clay Center, KS Son: William and wife Sharie Quattlebaum, Wichita, KS Son: Michael and wife Dana Quattlebaum, Albuquerque, NM 5 Grandchildren and 8 Greatgrandchildren Sister: Ruby McIntire, Clay Center, KS Sister: Murril Hilton, Kensett, AR Sister: Pearl Palmer, Kensett, AR Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 11:00AM at the First Baptist Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Robert Hawthorn. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on from 3-8PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to may be made to the Mary Quattlebaum Memorial Fund to be designated at a later date in care of the funeral home.
