Mary Young

MARY VIRGINIA YOUNG died June 9, 2008 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 84. She was born on August 16, 1923 in Clay Center, Kansas the daughter of Fred and Mary (Morrison) Johnson. She was raised in Clay Center and graduated from CCCHS in 1941. She worked a Union State Bank before marrying Roland Young on May 9, 1943. They made their home and farmed in the Morganville area. She also worked as a secretary at the Morganville Elementary School, retiring in 1983. Roland preceded her in death on December 13, 2007. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Episcopal Church. She was also a member of Avanti Club and Crawford Club of Morganville. Survivors include: Daughter: Carolyn and husband Don Garwood, Morganville, KS Daughter: Ronda Lloyd, Clay Center, KS Grandchildren: 5 Grandchildren 4 Great Grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church in . Officiating the service will be Rev. Susan Sawyer. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 5-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. The family will greet friends from 3-5 PM. Memorials can be made to St. Pauls Episcopal Church c/o the funeral home
