MAX CARLSON died September 3, 2007 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 64. Max Carlson was born on June 8, 1943 in Clay Center, Kansas the son of F. LeRoy Carlson and Marjorie Mae Swenson. Max grew up and attended Swedesburg Grade School and graduated from Morganville High School in 1961. He married Lana Knox on May 19, 1962. Max lived and farmed in the Clay County area all of his life. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clifton. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janet Geist. Survivors include: Wife: Lana Carlson, Clay Center, KS Son: Derrick Carlson, Clifton, KS Son: Eric and his wife, Connie Carlson, Salina, KS Daughter: Brenda and her husband, Gaylin Harms, Hildreth, NE Grandchildren: Seven Grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at 10:00 am at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clifton, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Fr. Larry Letourneau. Burial will be at the Swedish Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Clay County, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2007 with a Vigil service at 7 p.m. with Father Larry Grennan officiating at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to the Clay County Hospital Foundation in care of the funeral home.
