Mayalwilda Griffiths

MAYALWILDA GRIFFITHS died May 26, 2011 at Medicalodge, Clay Center, KS at the age of 88. MAYALWILDA GRIFFITHS was born on July 13, 1922 in Junction City Kansas, the daughter of Lloyd Knapp and Delilah De Boer. Mayalwilda was raised in Clay Center and graduated from CCCHS in 1941. She attended Brown Mackie College and worked in the secretarial pool at Ft. Riley. Mayalwilda married Fred Griffiths, Jr. on March 23, 1947. They farmed near Morganville. Fred preceded her in death on May 17, 2008. She was a member of the Morganville United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star. Survivors include: Daughter: Phoebe and husband Wally Pitney, Westmoreland, KS Sister: Dorothy Greenwalt, Junction City, KS Grandchildren: 2 Granddaughters and 6 Great-grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Morganville, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Gale Lund. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas.
