Melvin Woellhof died December 29, 2007 at Community Care Inc., Clifton, KS at the age of 86. Melvin was born on August 11, 1921 in Clay County, Kansas the son of Ezra and Grace (Ford) Woellhof. He was raised in Clay County, Kansas. He graduated from Clay County Community High School in 1942. He was a WWII Army veteran. He married Dorothy Demanett on October 29, 1950. He worked for Northern Natural Gas Co. of Clifton, Kansas for 34 years before retiring. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the B.P.O.E. of Clay Center and a member of the American Legion of Clifton, Kansas. He was preceded by 2 brothers. Survivors include: Wife: Dorothy Woellhof, Clay Center, KS Son: Gary Woellhof, Overland Park, KS Son: Arvin Woellhof, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Mindy and husband Jerome Charbonneau, Waterville, KS Brother: Truman and wife Leona Woellhof, Oak Hill, KS Brother: Eldon and wife Carolyn Woellhof, Abilene, KS Sister: Phyllis and husband Roy Hartner, Loveland, CO Grandson: Nathan Charbonneau, Manhattan, KS Granddaughter: Stephanie Charbonneau, Manhattan, KS Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Rev. James Byers. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 1 from 3:00 to 8:00pm. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorials can be made to Parkinson's Foundation or Meadowlark Hospice c/o the funeral home.
