Michael Steinsiek

Michael Hurd Steinsiek, 86, of Clay Center, died Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at the Ascencion Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan, Kansas.  He was born August 28, 1936, in Clayton, Oklahoma, the son of Bert and Hazel (Hurd) Steinsiek.

Michael grew up in Clayton, Oklahoma.  He attended and played football at the University of Oklahoma.  Michael married JoAnn Heitman on June 3, 1956.  He worked as a salesman for Custom Fence in Longmont, Colorado.  The couple moved to Clay Center in 2007.  He attended the First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center, was an avid fisherman and was a regular at the Tasty Pastry Bakery.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Heitman of Clay Center; 2 sons, Rick Steinsiek of Lake George, CO. and Michael Dirk and wife, Carol Steinsiek of Littleton, CO.; 3 grandchildren, Joshua (Brittney) Steinsiek, Heather (Dan) Foggin and Candice Steinsiek and 13 great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home.  Friends are invited to a reception following the service.
