MILDRED PAULINE PAQUETTE died June 29, 2009 at Community Care Inc., Clifton, KS at the age of 87. She was born on February 4, 1922 in Miltonvale Kansas, the daughter of Herman Zahn and Ethel Drown. She graduated from Miltonvale High School in 1939. She married William Paquette on April 14, 1941 in St. Joseph, KS. Mildred and Bill owned and operated the Sunflower Cafe in Clay Center. Mildred also worked at several other cafes. Bill preceded her in death on March 12, 1994. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Clay Center. She is also preceded by 1 sister and twin grandsons. Survivors include: Son: Larry and wife Ligia Paquette, Junction City, KS Son: Lonnie and wife Jean Paquette, Manhattan, KS Daughter: Lana Mellies, Clay Center, KS Sister: Katherine Castor, Wichita, KS Grandchildren: 7 Grand and 7 Great-grand Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Clay Center, Kansas . Officiating the service will be Father Larry Grennan and Father Loren Werth. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 3-7:30 PM at the funeral home with rosary recited at 7:30. Memorials can be made to Meadowlark Hospice or Community Care Inc. nursing home in care of the funeral home.
