MILDRED M SANBERG, 97 died February 26, 2014 at Leonardville Nursinghome in Leonardville, KS. She was born on December 15, 1916 in Morganville, KS. The daughter of James and Carrie (Burchard) Murphy. Mildred attended school in Clay Center. She married Weldon V. Sanberg on November 24, 1938 in Clay Center. They farmed and raised their family on a farm west of Clay Center. In 1966 they moved to Clay Center where Weldon worked for W.W. Smith and Sons and Mildred worked at Weimer's Drug Store. Mildred was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she was active in the Ladie's Circle and Mite Society. She also served as sewing leader for the Washington Headliners 4-H Club. Mildred enjoyed reading poetry, baking and sharing her home with her mother for whom she was caregiver. Especially important to her were the many friendships developed within the Stillwater and Needle workers Clubs in Clay Center and Morganville of which she was a charter member. She is preceded in death by her husband, Weldon, son, Douglas Sanberg in March 1974, sister, Sylvia Schoneweis, brothers, Alfred, Carl and William Murphy and an infant granddaughter, Cindy Sue Carlson Survivors: Daughter: Sharon and husband Larry Carlson, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Linda and husband Dr. W. Dale Eustace, North Newton, KS Daughter in law: Marilyn Sanberg, Eudora, KS 5 Grandchildren and 10 Great-grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 1:30 PM at the First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center, KS Officiating the service will be Pastor Larry Carr Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 from 3-8PM atNeill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home Memorials: to the Presbyterian Church c/o the funeral home.
