Ned Edward Sortor was born to Fred Aaron and Anna (Tolin) Sortor on Nov. 12, 1925 in Colby, KS. and entered God's Rest on June 7, 2018 at the age of 92. Ned was raised in Clay Center and graduated from CCCHS in 1944. He was employed with KDOT from 1944 until his retirement in 1986. On December 24, 1948 he was married to Dixie Hare at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Ned was a "Born Gardner" and shared much produce with family, friends and neighbors. He enjoyed woodworking and novelties and made many unique items. Ned was a Friend Indeed to many people He was a Member of the American Legion and attended the Idana Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Daughter, Ruth Ann McAnarney; Son, James Aaron Sortor; Brother, Fred Aaron Sortor and Sister, Betty Eustace. Survivors, Wife, Dixie; Daughter, Brenda Sortor; Grandson, Justin Pfizenmaier; Sister, Eva Sebring; and 8 Nieces & Nephews, Funeral Services are planned at First Presbyterian Church, at 10 A.M. Tuesday, June 12 with Pastor Scott Lingle officiating. Visitation June 11, 3 to 7 P.M. at Neill-Schwensen—Rook Funeral Home Burial at Greenwood Cemetery.
