NEDWIN L. “Ned” BLOOM died November 4, 2012 at Clay County Medical Center,
Clay Center, KS at the age of 81. Ned was born on July 25, 1931 in Idana, Kansas the son of
LeRoy "Hap" and Thelma(Gonser) Bloom.
Ned grew up in Idana and graduated from CCCHS in 1949. He married Darlene Bigler on
December 19, 1952 and she preceded him in death on November 13, 2006. He worked for
Obenland Plumbing, KP&L, Gilmore-Tatge, and was a co-owner of Key Feeds. Ned served in
the National Guard and retired in 1991, after 42 years of service, with the rank of Major. He was
the current Master of the Clay Center Masonic Lodge and was also a member of the B.P.O.E. and
the Clay Center American Legion. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Son: Caleb and wife, Jamie Bloom, Clay Center, KS
Son: Aaron Bloom, Clay Center, KS
Son: Tracy and wife, Jessica Bloom, Topeka, KS
Son: Garth and wife, Mary Bloom, Wichita, KS
Grandchildren: 16 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren
Sister: Jean and husband Don Hatfield, Clay Center, KS
Sister: Cheryl and husband, John Lonergan, Justice, IL
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 10:30A.M. at the Clay Center
United Methodist Church in Clay Center, Kansas.
Officiating the service will be Rev. Larry Myers.
Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on will be held from 3:00P.M.-8:00P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials can be made to may be made to the Clay Center Masonic Lodge and can be sent in
care of the funeral home.
