Nellie Fullerton

NELLIE FULLERTON died February 12, 2008 at Medicalodge, Clay Center, KS at the age of 105. Nellie was born on June 10, 1902 in Clay County, KS the daughter of Henry Mildfelt and Sarah McDermott. She graduated from CCCHS in 1920 and attended Kansas State University. She taught for 4 years in country schools. She married Ernest Fullerton on June 10, 1924. He preceded her in death on May 7, 1955. She worked 12 years at Dudley's Menswear and at at Summer's Mens and Boyswear in Clay Center. She also worked as a volunteer at Medicalodge. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center where she taught Sunday School for 40 years. She was also a deacon, on the church library committee and in the Mite Society. She served as President of the Topeka Presbyterial from 1938 to 1943. She was secretary of Social Education for the Kansas Synodeal. She was active in the Historical Society, VFW Auxillary, OES #180, Mother Advisor and Grand Deputy for Rainbow for Girls from 1956 to 1986, Retired Teachers Association and a founding member of the Home Art Club, all of Clay center. She is also preceded by 4 daughters and 1 brother. Survivors include: Daughter: Eloise and husband Larry Henry, Rogersville, MO Grandchildren: 11 Grand, 17 Great-grand & 2 Great-Great-grand Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center, Kansas . Officiating the service will be Rev James Byers. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 3-8 PM Friday at the funeral home Memorials can be made to Nell Fullerton memorial fund c/o the funeral home
