Nicholas Kondratieff

Nicholas Kondratieff, 81 of Clay Center, died on September 22, 2026 at Ascension Via Christi in Manhattan. He was born on April 28, 1945 in Clay Center, the son of Igor and Anna Mae (Carnahan) Kondratieff.

Nicholas grew up in California and moved back to Clay Center at the age of 15. He graduated from CCCHS in 1963. Nicholas was drafted into the United States Army and served from 1966-1968, he was stationed in Panama and Ft. Lewis, Washington. He then moved back to Clay Center and farmed in Clay County while also working as a laborer at Gilmore-Tatge. Nicholas married Jeanette Hoss on August 29, 1970. He is preceded in death by parents and 2 brothers, Kenneth and Neill.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Kondratieff of Clay Center; son, Valerian Kondratieff of Clay Center; daughter, Nicolette Zimmerman of Kansas City; and his brother, Mike Kondratieff of Oregon.

A visitation will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Nicholas Kondratieff memorial fund to be designated later by the family and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
