OPAL ALEEN HADEN, 96 died February 12, 2016 at Presbyterian Manor in Salina, KS. She was born on July 20, 1919 in Leonardville, KS. The daughter of C.B. and Minnie (Nelson) Meyer.
Opal was born on a farm west of Leonardville, KS. She was 1 of 9 children. Opal was a graduate of Leonardville High School and had a teaching certificate from K-State. She taught in rural one room schools and was a substitute teacher in Clifton. She married Raymond Haden in 1940 in Clay Center and they settled in Clifton where they raised 3 children and owned an upholstery shop for 35 years.
Opal was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a member of the Clifton Christian Church where she played the organ and the piano for 60 years and shared her musical talents for various other events throughout the years. She is preceded in death by parents, husband Raymond in 1997, 1 grandchild, Ryan Haden and 7 siblings.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 10:00AM at the Turner Funeral Chapel in Clifton, KS.
Officiating the service will be Ed Moynahan.
Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Vining, KS.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016 from 5-7 PM at the Turner Funeral Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the Opal Haden Memorial Fund and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
