Opal L. Koerner

OPAL L. KOERNER died September 13, 2011 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 91. Opal was born on September 16, 1919 in Abilene Kansas, the daughter of John Bergmeier and Blanche Arnold. She was raised near Wakefield. She married Clarence Koerner on November 9, 1938 and he preceded her in death on June 25, 1985. She farmed with her husband in the Wakefield area most of her life. She was also preceded in death by a son, Darrell Koerner. Survivors include: Son: Dallas Koerner, Peoria, IL Son: Gary and his wife, Donna Koerner, Topeka, KS Son: Douglas and his wife, Janet Koerner, Wakefield, KS Daughter: Deanna Fogel, Topeka, KS Grandchildren: 11 Grandchildren and several Great grandchildren Brother: John Calvin Bergmeier, Topeka, KS Brother: Clayton Dean Bergmeier, Pocatello , ID Private family services will be held. Officiating the service will be Rev. Diana Stewart. Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery, Wakefield, Kansas. There will be no visitation.
