Opal Irene (Rand) Naumann, 90, Clifton died September 12, 2016. She was born February 12, 1926 in rural Clifton to Glenn and Frances (Jackson) Rand.
Opal graduated from Clifton High School in 1942. She married Homer Naumann on August 2, 1946. They recently celebrated their 70th anniversary.
She was a life-time member of Clifton American Legion Auxiliary #227 and served as President for both the First District American Legion Auxiliary and Department of Kansas Auxiliary. Opal was involved with Sunflower Girl State for 25 years, and was a member of VFW 7515 Auxiliary and the Faith United Church Presbyterian.
Survivors include husband, Homer Naumann, one son, Leroy Naumann (Pat), Clifton; three daughters, Shirley Marrs, Washington; Sharon Reed, Clyde; and Kathy Klein (Tom), Silver Lake; 10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Joyce Rand.
She was preceded in death by three brothers – Artie, Alvin and Veryl.
Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 pm and services will be Saturday at 10 am, both at Faith United Church Presbyterian, Clifton. Inurnment will be at Pleasant View Cemetery, Vining.
Memorials may be made to Faith United Church Presbyterian or American Legion Auxiliary #227, in care of Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home.
